Cust School - Canterbury

Cust School students wish to regenerate the native bush of the Cust Domain, an area which a large number of the community utilise.  The domain is frequented by walkers, joggers, golfers, cricketers, horse riders, BMX riders, campers, Hot Air Ballooners, and holds large community events, but is in need of some care and restoration.

The students are working with the local community, the Cust Domain Advistory Board and Council to develop a plan to further ehance the domain and bring native birds to the area.  This will include gathering some baseline data, developing a planting plan and considering what pest methods may be required.  The students will then undertake to carry out the project, by clearing weeds, installing required irrigation, walkway preparation and planting of 400 native trees.
